A delegation led by the Xi'an Municipal Party Committee Secretary, Fang Hongwei, arrived in Samarkand.

At the meeting with Hokim Fazliddin Umarov, issues of establishing trade and economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation between the two ancient cities were discussed.

Samarkand region has been cooperating with the Shaanxi province for several years now. This year, economic forums, presentations, and visits of delegations were organized with the participation of the heads of the two regions and entrepreneurs. Strengthening ties between the cities of Samarkand and Xi'an is essential.

At the meeting, an agreement on trade and economic cooperation was signed between Samarkand and Xi'an.
