A delegation led by the Governor of China’s Shaanxi province, Zhao Gang, arrived in Samarkand.

Friendly relations between Samarkand and Shaanxi strengthen yearly, trade-economic relations enhance, cooperation in various fields develops, and trade turnover increases.

This was discussed at the meeting of the Hokim of Samarkand region, E. Turdimov, with a delegation from China.

The Region’s Hokim expressed gratitude for the attention shown during the Samarkand delegation’s visit to Shaanxi province in January this year. More than 40 agreements have been signed between businesspeople of the two regions. Recently, during a trip to Samarkand, entrepreneurs from Shaanxi agreed to cooperate in 11 areas.

“Our meeting will become another important step in the development of cooperation”, says E. Turdimov. “The experience of Shaanxi is important for us, and we are already using it in the region’s development. We have great opportunities in culture and tourism, so it is important to hold business forums and cultural days in the cities of the two regions”.

The Governor of Shaanxi Province supported the ideas and stated that there were broad prospects for cooperation. He proposed intensifying cooperation in trade and investment, agriculture, agrotechnology, education, and science.

The parties agreed to continue close cooperation on all identified issues and raise relations between the two regions to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership.
