Ambassador of Uzbekistan Dilshod Akhatov has met with the Mayor of India’s Agra (Uttar Pradesh state) Naveen Kumar Jain.

The parties discussed the ongoing work for the development of direct contacts between Uzbekistan and India regions.

During the state visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to India on October 1, 2018, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the city administration of Samarkand and the Agra Municipal Corporation in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

The parties discussed the work carried out within the framework of this Memorandum and explored the possibilities for further development of fruitful cooperation.

Issues of organizing joint events in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, developing ties in handicrafts, establishing direct contacts between entrepreneurs were discussed.

An agreement was reached on organizing visits of delegations of entrepreneurs and businessmen.

It was noted that in connection with the huge tourism potential of Samarkand and Agra, it is important to establish cooperation between travel companies in these regions.
