Sabantuy – Labor and Friendship Holiday

The Tatar-Bashkir folk Sabantuy, a national holiday of friendship, labor, art, and sports, took place in the Central Park in Tashkent.

The Chairman of the Committee for Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries, Rustambek Kurbanov, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Uzbekistan, Oleg Malginov, attended the holiday’s opening ceremony.

A congratulatory message from the leaders of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan to Uzbekistan people was read out with sincere wishes on the occasion of the Sabantuy holiday.

Chairman of the Committee for Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries Rustambek Kurbanov emphasized that the interethnic and interfaith harmony that reigns in Uzbekistan is the result of the policy pursued under the leadership of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, that the friendship of peoples is the main asset of our state.

Participants noted that the necessary conditions are created for representatives of different nations to develop national customs and celebrations.

Chairman of the Tatar Cultural Center, Rishat Nabiullin, said that Sabantuy is held annually in one of the most beautiful parks in Tashkent. On this holiday, you can meet representatives of almost all nationalities living on our land.

Famous artists from Tatarstan and Bashkortostan attended the event. Participants enjoyed songs and dances and took part in 12 Tatar national games and competitions.

After the official part, a festive concert was organized, at which leading artists from Uzbekistan, Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, and amateur art groups performed.
