Central Park in Tashkent hosted the national Tatar-Bashkir holiday Sabantuy. This is a holiday of friendship, labor, art and sports.

The event aroused great interest among residents and guests of the capital. Songs and dances were presented in the park. Sports competitions, interesting games, an exhibition of folk arts and crafts, a demonstration of national dishes and many other programs were organized.

The opening ceremony of the holiday was attended by the Chairman of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan Rustambek Kurbanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Uzbekistan Oleg Malginov, representatives of the administration of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Republic of Bashkortostan, head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office Mikhail Vozhdaev, heads of the Tatar and Bashkir national cultural centers in Uzbekistan, who congratulated the participants on the holiday.

The sincere wishes of the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the President of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov to the Uzbek people on the occasion of Sabantuy were read out.
