At the Greco-Roman wrestling championships held as part of the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games, a member of the Uzbekistan national team Rustam Assakalov won a bronze medal.

Rustam competed in the 97-kilogram weight category and defeated the athlete from Kazakhstan Islam Umayev in the fight for third place.

Until today, Rustam Assakalov has won gold and silver medals at the Asian Games.
