Championships among athletes in the weight category up to 97 kilograms have kicked off at the Greco-Roman wrestling competitions within the framework of the Olympic Games.

In this weight category, Uzbekistan’s honor is defended by Rustam Assakalov, who fought Kevin Mejía Castillo (Honduras) in the 1/4 finals. Uzbekistan’s athlete became the winner with a score of 5-3.

On August 6, Rustam Assakalov will fight with Artur Aleksanyan from Armenia for the semifinals.
