On August 5, a military delegation of the Russian Federation led by the First Deputy Minister of Defense – Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Army General Valery Gerasimov arrived in Uzbekistan.

Valery Gerasimov met with the Secretary of the Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Viktor Makhmudov. A meeting was also held with the First Deputy Minister of Defense – Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Major General Shukhrat Khalmuhamedov.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral military and military-technical cooperation, as well as issues of regional security.

Military education issues, conduction of joint exercises and trainings, exchange of experience in combat training were considered.

It was noted that the International Army Games are becoming a platform for the military personnel of the participating countries to test their strength and improve their professional skills.

The geography of their conduction is expanding every year. This year, the teams of the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan are taking part in 24 nominations of competitions within the framework of the International Army Games.
