Moscow hosted the 24th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khojayev and Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation – Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov.
According to Rossiyskaya Gazeta, the development of cooperation was discussed at the event. As noted, investments attracted to Uzbekistan by one of the leading investors, Russia, exceeded 1.2 trillion rubles. They continue to grow. Mr. Manturov emphasized the need to use modern digital technologies.
“Now, on the initiative of the Uzbek side, we are working on several projects, including the creation, with the participation of Russian industrial companies and financial institutions, of a metallurgical cluster based on the Tebinbulak deposit, the construction of a copper processing plant based on the Almalyk MMC, a gas chemical complex and thermal power plants in Bukhara region”, Mr. Manturov says.
According to TASS, Russia plans to double its trade turnover with Uzbekistan by 2030. The possibilities of increasing the export of oil and petroleum products are being studied.
