20:05 / 2025-02-25

During the visit to Brussels, the Uzbekistan delegation, led by the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Foreign Policy, Abdulaziz Kamilov, took part in the roundtable discussion on new horizons for cooperation between Central Asia and the European Union.

The event was organized by the Permanent Representation of Uzbekistan to the European Union, with the participation of officials from leading European institutions, including the EU Council, the European Commission, the European External Action Service, and the European Investment Bank.

The Uzbekistan delegation at the event included Javlon Vakhabov, Director of the International Institute for Central Asia, as well as the heads of Uzbekistan’s diplomatic missions in Germany, France, Belgium, and Italy.

Views on strengthening interregional interaction in politics and security, trade and investment, energy, industry, and education were exchanged.

The roundtable became a significant event ahead of the “Central Asia – European Union” summit, scheduled for April 3-4 in Samarkand.

An agreement was reached to continue the dialogue on key areas of cooperation between the EU and Central Asia, including the expansion of trade and economic ties, the development of transport communications, and enhanced coordination in security.
