Road safety is under deputies’ control

The Committee on Defense and Security of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis held a meeting to discuss implementation of Road Safety Concept in the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2018-2022.
Information of the head of the Main Department of Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on implementation of the roadmap for implementation of the concept in 2018-2019 was heard.
It was noted that in accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures for further improvement of road safety system” of July 11, 2017, comprehensive organizational-practical measures for reliable road safety were defined.
Results of studying activity carried out in Andijan, Namangan, Samarkand, Fergana regions and the city of Tashkent to ensure road safety were discussed at the event.
Specific tasks were also defined for eliminating deficiencies and problems identified during the study, further improving the order of conducting technical inspection of vehicles, re-examination and improving transparency of issuing system of state registration plates for motor vehicles, retraining employees of road-patrol service.
Relevant decisions were taken on the discussed issues during the meeting.
