Riyadh 2025: The number of medals grows

Today, as part of the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Uzbekistan’s athletes will compete in three sports.

The Uzbekistan women’s national handball team will play against Azerbaijan.

Aleksandr Kurishov will perform at the final duathlon competitions. Jakhongir Khudoyberdiyev (54 kg), Madina Mirabzalova (57 kg), Najmiddin Kosimkhodjayev (74 kg), and Madina Shoniyozova (46 kg) will also compete for medals in their weight categories at the WT taekwondo competitions.

Yesterday, the Uzbekistan national team members won 1 silver and 2 bronze medals. In particular, Alina Hakimova won silver in duathlon, and Aziza Mamurova (-55 kg) and Sevara Dilmurodova (-65 kg) won bronze medals in Muay Thai.

The Uzbekistan national team ranks second in the overall standings with 15 gold, 18 silver, and 16 bronze medals. Türkiye leads the way with 58 gold, 27 silver, and 18 bronze medals, while Kazakhstan’s athletes take third place with 11 gold, 12 silver, and 13 bronze medals.
