Riga hosted Uzbekistan – Latvian political consultations between the two countries’ foreign ministries.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, the country’s delegation was led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Gayrat Fozilov, Latvia – Under-Secretary of State, Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andzejs Vilumsons.

The parties discussed various issues on the Uzbekistan – Latvian agenda, paying special attention to the prospects for developing cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian, and other fields.

The parties expressed interest in strengthening inter-parliamentary ties, intensifying political dialogue, and expanding scientific and humanitarian exchanges.

Views were exchanged on expanding the legal framework of bilateral relations and on the schedule of upcoming joint events.
