Within the framework of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tashkent hosted Uzbekistan – Tajikistan business forum and “Made in Tajikistan” exhibition.

More than 400 representatives of business communities of the two countries attended the business forum. As a result of negotiations, 58 contracts and agreements worth $133.2 million were signed. Contracts were signed in the oil and gas, metallurgy, machine-building, electrical, chemical, construction, pharmaceutical, food processing, financial and other industries.

The exhibition was attended by more than 100 large industrial enterprises of the Republic of Tajikistan, such as Talco Group, Gajur Cement, Mohir Cement, Faroz, Shiri Dushanbe, Angisht, Makolli, Obi Zulol companies and other large enterprises in the metallurgy, mechanical engineering, chemical, food and light industries.

“This exhibition allows potential partners and future consumers of our products to evaluate the high quality of the goods. Uzbekistan is a very promising market for us. I think that our products will find their place in the market of Uzbekistan, since the quality is not inferior to other foreign brands. During our visit, we signed a contract with a local company for the supply of confectionery and within two months we will deliver the first batch of our products”, – said Akmal Khamidov, director of confectionery production company “Amiri”.

Important goals of the business forum and exhibition are the establishment and strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation between business entities of the two countries, as well as demonstration of Tajikistan’s industrial products for interested entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan. Both events contribute to the attraction of mutual investments and establishment of joint ventures in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, the Press Service of the Ministry for Foreign Trade reports.
