Thirty years ago, specialists from the Uzbekistan Airways Technics aircraft repair enterprise were trained at the Lufthansa Technic AG. In honor of the anniversary of cooperation, representatives of Lufthansa Technic AG arrived in Tashkent on the territory of Uzbekistan Airways Technics LLC, where they met with the leadership of Uzbekistan Airways JSC.

The development of new aviation technology began thirty years ago. The repair department was re-equipped entirely. This was also necessary to obtain international certificates. Cooperation with the German airline played a significant role in this process. Today, Uzbekistan Airways Technics is one of the largest specialized enterprises in the CIS countries. Its specialists provide services at international standards for aircraft repair and maintenance.

According to the First Deputy Chairman of the Board for Production of Uzbekistan Airways JSC, Umid Khusanov, the importance of cooperation with Lufthansa Technic AG is undeniable. And the fact that it has been going on for 30 years says a lot. This year, the national air carrier plans to implement a significant project with Lufthansa Technic AG.

Umid Khusanov noted that cooperation between the companies continues to strengthen and hopes that its fortieth anniversary will be celebrated in ten years.

Thus, the partnership with the German airline consisted of training specialists and repairing spare parts, studying the market for aircraft repair services, and creating a client base for Uzbekistan Airways Technics. Since 1997, the engineering and technical personnel of the enterprise have independently serviced each new aircraft of the national air carrier.

Member of the Executive Board, Chief Operations & HR Officer of Lufthansa Technic AG Harald Gloy noted that it is also essential for Lufthansa Technic AG to maintain and develop cooperation with Uzbekistan Airways Technics. Over thirty years, the partnership continues to grow stronger and yield results.

– Our joint work began with the maintenance of two aircraft, and now it concerns most of the country’s entire fleet, – says Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Uzbekistan Tilo Klinner. – I am happy that it has constantly expanded. Our countries are located far from each other. The last year has been the most successful in establishing cooperation between the two countries. During this period, several large delegations from Uzbekistan visited us, and an exhibition was held in Berlin, demonstrating your country’s archaeological heritage. The development of air traffic between Uzbekistan and Germany will increase the flow of tourists.

Uzbekistan Airways Technics LLC is a structural division of Uzbekistan Airways JSC. It has more than 98 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of aircraft, engines, and components. The company’s employees maintain and repair almost all current types of Airbus and Boeing aircraft.
