Representatives of international financial institutions discuss reforms in public investment management

A virtual roundtable discussion has been held to discuss priority reforms in public investment management and to attract technical assistance from international financial institutions and other organizations in implementing the recommendations of the International Monetary Fund’s Public Investment Management Assessment (PIMA) report.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the event was attended by representatives of large international financial institutions, including specialists from the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the United Nations Development Programme, the European Union Delegation, the U.S. Department of the Treasury and other structures.

Deputy Minister of Finance Ahadbek Khaydarov noted that the following measures were taken in Uzbekistan to ensure transparency and openness of information about the state budget and participation of citizens in the budget process.

At the meeting, experts from IFIs and other organizations presented comments and opinions on assisting the Government in implementing the recommendations of the IMF report.

Possible technical support of IFIs and other organizations was discussed at the event.
