Director of the International Institute for Central Asia, Javlon Vakhabov, met with the Regional Authorized Representative of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation for Central Asia, Andre Algermissen.
The parties highly appreciated the current level of relations between Uzbekistan and Germany and their dynamic development in all areas of bilateral dialogue. A feature of the development of cooperation is regular meetings and negotiations at various levels on politics and security, trade and investment, and culture and education.
The importance of Uzbekistan’s new regional policy to create an atmosphere of friendship and mutual trust in Central Asia, which positively impacts cooperation in the region, was also emphasized. In this context, the parties drew attention to the development of transport connectivity in the region, reflected in the simplification of crossing borders between countries.
At the meeting, Mr. Algermissen spoke about the main activities of the Foundation, which cover a wide range of issues from politics and economics to green development and cultural and humanitarian areas.
In this context, the prospects for partnership between IICA and the Foundation were discussed. It was proposed to organize joint conferences, including on the practical and rational use of water resources in Central Asia, with experts from analytical institutions, relevant ministries and agencies.
