National Press Center of Uzbekistan hosted a press conference on “Navruz is a holiday of our multinational people”.

The conference was jointly organized by the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the National Press Center of Uzbekistan.

The head of the Information Service of the Committee, Gaybulla Shukurov, congratulated the audience on the holiday and informed about the activities of the Committee.

At the conference, Deputy Chairman of Tajikistan National Cultural Center of Uzbekistan Nasiba Zaynuddinova and Chairman of the Turkmen National Cultural Center of Uzbekistan Guldona Avezdurdiyeva spoke about the features of the Navruz holiday.

Currently, representatives of more than 130 nations and nationalities live in Uzbekistan in friendship and harmony, which have equal rights and opportunities for the comprehensive development and enrichment of ethnic identity, language, traditions and customs.

Currently, there are 151 national cultural centers and 36 friendship societies in the country. Representatives of all nations and nationalities meet this bright holiday of spring together.

It was noted that according to the plan developed by the Committee on March 21, the national cultural centers operating in Tashkent will take part in the festive events with their concert programs.
