At an expanded meeting of the Committee of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on International Relations, Foreign Economic Ties, Foreign Investments, and Tourism, reports of the heads of Uzbekistan’s diplomatic missions in Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan were heard.
It was emphasized that establishing and strengthening good-neighborly relations, building friendly cooperation in the Central Asian region, attracting foreign investment, increasing export volumes, and enhancing Uzbekistan’s international image have been defined by the President of Uzbekistan as the main objectives of the state’s foreign policy.

Discussions focused on major economic and infrastructure projects with Afghanistan and Pakistan, as well as the conditions for developing international transport and energy corridors.

Special attention was given to protecting the rights and interests of our compatriots and labor migrants temporarily residing abroad, and to providing them with qualified consular and legal assistance.

The need to intensify cooperation in improving the efficiency of diplomatic missions, as well as in establishing and strengthening direct collaboration with relevant ministries and agencies, regional hokimiyats, and local Councils, was emphasized.
