On April 25, Tashkent hosted a meeting of government delegations of the two countries led by the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov.
The parties exchanged views on further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Czech Republic, the full use of the great potential of the parties, the launch of new promising projects, the intensification of bilateral relations, the expansion and deepening of interaction in all respects.
It was noted that there are about 50 joint ventures with the participation of the Czech capital in Uzbekistan. Since the beginning of this year, the trade turnover has increased 2.6 times.
The parties also discussed the further expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation.
The heads of delegations took part in the opening ceremony of Uzbekistan – Czech Business Forum.
Petr Fiala noted that earlier Uzbekistan meant only one word – cotton, but today it has become a rapidly and steadily developing state that supports the growth of gross domestic product. Cooperation is consistently developing. The trade turnover last year rose to a record level.
More than 50 local business structures took part in B2B meetings. The parties exchanged views on the prospects for the development of trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Czech Republic, including further acceleration of partnership between enterprises of the two countries.
