22:17 / 2025-08-26

A regional forum of compatriots was held in Syracuse, United States.

The forum, organized by the Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Interethnic Relations and Compatriots Abroad, in collaboration with the Public Foundation “Vatandoshlar”, was attended by approximately 300 compatriots residing in the United States and Canada.

The Chairman of the Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Interethnic Relations and Compatriots Abroad, Kakhramon Sariyev, addressed the event, highlighting the importance and great significance of the forum.

During the forum, it was noted that uniting the Uzbek diaspora, which has spread around the world in the course of the renewal of our state, has become one of the priority directions of state policy. Notably, this large-scale event in leading countries, such as the United States, alongside the exchange of views, served as a significant spiritual platform for expanding international cooperation and identifying new opportunities.

Discussions also touched upon a new version of the Concept of State Policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Cooperation with Compatriots Living Abroad, as well as the “Who Is Who” project, which will publish articles about individuals in the academic community, their life paths, achievements, and recommendations for the development of New Uzbekistan.

Syracuse University is one of the most prestigious not only in New York but also in the United States. Within the framework of the forum, issues related to student exchange, joint scientific research, and teaching by professors in collaboration with this university were discussed. This vast opportunity for our youth serves as a source of experience and innovation for the national education system.

Another vital aspect was devoted to the role of compatriots abroad in the development of Uzbekistan and to current issues of partnership. This forum is of great importance as a bridge of friendship, which, in essence, extends beyond a single country and connects different nationalities and societies across two continents.

The event also featured special sessions on various areas. In particular, the “Education and Innovative Economy” section addressed issues of cooperation in education and youth potential, while the “Digital Technologies and Integration” section focused on IT innovations, digital services, and opportunities for transnational integration.

In the area of social development and culture, conclusions were drawn on preserving national heritage, expanding cultural ties, and enhancing the image of Uzbeks in society. The Syracuse Forum stands as a political event that unites national diplomacy, economic cooperation, and cultural and intellectual strength.
