Reforms’ scale and effectiveness recognized

Representatives of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) visited the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The parties discussed bilateral relations in cooperation to create effective and sustainable policies, develop regulatory approaches based on data and evidence, and improve mechanisms for assessing regulatory impact.

Deputy Minister of Justice Alisher Karimov acquainted the guests with the work carried out by the ministry and promising projects in this area.

The parties considered the OECD recommendations regarding the review of public administration in Uzbekistan and issues related to their implementation.

The OECD representatives recognized the scale and effectiveness of the reforms carried out by the Ministry of Justice in ​​increasing the efficiency of lawmaking and improving the quality of legislative acts.

Further areas of cooperation were discussed, including assistance from OECD experts in regulatory impact assessment.
