The guests praised the development of Turkic studies in Uzbekistan, including TSUOS, the level of cooperation with Turkish higher education institutions.
Rector of Istanbul University Mahmut Ak and Rector of Ankara University Necdet Ünüvar spoke about the future activities to be carried out within the framework of existing cooperation agreements with Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.
The participants of the event discussed issues such as sending Uzbekistan turkologists to Ankara University for advanced training in 2022, holding a joint international scientific-practical conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of relations between Uzbekistan and Turkey in May at TSUOS in cooperation with Istanbul University.
TSUOS and Altai Academic Society in Turkey are planning to hold the 10th International Symposium of the Altai Community in September this year. Rector of Bursa Uludağ University Ahmet Saim Kılavuz actively supported the initiative to organize the event.
The Turkic Studies Faculty operates in Uzbekistan only at TSUOS. Rector of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, İbrahim Aydinli and Rector of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University Hüseyin Karaman expressed satisfaction with the rapid development of Turkic studies at the university. They expressed readiness to provide scientific and educational literature in this area, to organize exchanges of specialists and to provide assistance in other areas.
Representatives of the Embassy of Turkey in Uzbekistan also attended the meeting.
