In the Farghona Region stage of the contest “The best self-government body of citizens”, Baghdod District’s Chuvalachi village citizens’ gathering has won a victory and has obtained the right to participate in the republican stage of the contest.

“Neighbourhood is a place of morality and unity. In our neighbourhood where more than 31 thousand people live, small businesses have been set up, and the ranks of entrepreneurs providing jobs for young people are expanding with every passing year,” says the chairman of the Chuvalachi village citizens’ gathering, Egamberdi Akbarov.

It was said at the event held under the slogan of “My life, my destiny – my sacred homeland, my beautiful and unique Uzbekistan” that under the leadership of the country’s President, measures directed towards further raising the prestige of neighbourhood and ensuring its active participation in socio-economic reforms were producing great results.

The role and significance of neighbourhoods are rising in bringing up young people to become well in every respect, in strengthening and providing social support for the institution of family and in ensuring a climate of unity and harmony in society.

This contest which is being held traditionally is of important significance in raising neighbourhoods’ active participation in the process of reforms and in widely popularizing advanced work experiences.

All the 1037 citizens’ self-government bodies in the region participated in the contest. Participants had their knowledge and ability tested in specific areas. Construction and area improvement work carried out by citizens’ gatherings and results achieved in this area were evaluated on the basis of principles of transparency and equality.
