Rational use of water resources in Central Asia to be discussed

A roundtable discussion on the current issues of rational use of water resources and preservation of glaciers in Central Asia will be held online on January 19, 2022.

The event is organized by the International Institute for Central Asia and the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The forum will be attended by leading analytical and research structures of Central Asian countries, the State of Israel, as well as experts from the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea.

The Uzbek side will be represented by the Ministry of Water Resources, the Institute of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology, the Center for Glacial Geology, the Scientific Research Hydrometeorological Institute of Uzhydromet, the State Monitoring Service of Dangerous Geological Processes.

Participants will discuss issues of rational use of water resources in the region and prospects for cooperation between interested countries on glacier conservation.
