Qanot Sharq takes over Airbus A320
09:38 / 2021-04-27

The first airliner Airbus A320 of Qanot Sharq Airlines has landed at “Toshkent-3” airport.

At the event held on this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov, Founder of Qanot Sharq Airlines Nosir Abdugafarov noted that the opportunities created in Uzbekistan for business entities play an important role in establishing the activities of private airlines.

Qanot Sharq has accumulated significant experience during its 20-year activity mainly in the air cargo industry. During this period, the airline managed to create a network of large agencies in the country and abroad and carried out the transportation of more than 100 thousand tons of cargo.

Over the past seven years, the airline has tested its capabilities in passenger transportation. Having established effective cooperation with local and foreign airlines, Qanot Sharq carried more than 150 thousand passengers through charter flights.

The signing of leases for two A320 passenger aircraft in October 2020 marked the start of an important new period in the company’s history. Thus, Qanot Sharq Airlines was the first in the country to establish air communication based on private entrepreneurship.

Two A330 airliners are expected to be delivered by the end of the year. The airline plans to have three A320s and three A330s in its fleet.
