14:26 / 2022-01-26

On the eve of the celebration of the anniversary of the great son of the Uzbek people, thinker, philosopher, poet and statesman Alisher Navoi’s birth, a detailed and illustrated article by journalist Khaled Al Sharqawi dedicated to the priceless creative heritage of the classical poet was published in Q8-Press (Kuwait Press).

The publication introduces readers to the biography of Alisher Navoi, including his activities as a statesman – vizier of Timurid Khorasan. It is noted that during his reign, several creative communities, consisting of poets, historians, musicians, calligraphers, and artists, emerged in the capital of Khorasan. Several facilities – 17 mosques, 20 reservoirs, several dams, bridges, khanaks, where Sufis lived, and several mausoleums were built under the leadership of Alisher Navoi.

The main attention in the article is paid to the creative activity of Alisher Navoi as a classic of Uzbek poetry and, in general, the founder of Uzbek literature.

Khaled Al Sharqawi writes that Alisher Navoi proved himself as a poet composing poems in two languages (Turkic and Farsi).

The author describes in detail the work “Hamsa”, consisting of the poems “Khayrat al-Abrar”, “Farhad and Shirin”, “Layli and Majnun”, “Sabʼai sayyor” and “Saddi Iskandari”.

In conclusion, it is noted that Uzbekistan today focuses on the study of the poet's work and the publication of his works. It is noted that many squares and institutions in Uzbekistan and other Central Asian countries are named after Alisher Navoi. Navoi region, Navoi city, National Library, Opera and Ballet Theater, Tashkent Metro station, Navoi International Airport, named after the great Uzbek lyricist, are given as an example.
