Public Diplomacy and Volunteering

A roundtable discussion on “Public Diplomacy and Volunteering” was held at the Youth Camp, organized in collaboration with the Association of Volunteers of Uzbekistan and the Public Diplomacy Center of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Uzbekistan.

During the discussion, participants explored key issues regarding the impact of volunteer initiatives on international relations and strengthening friendship between nations. Special attention was given to successful projects and best practices implemented by the SCO Public Diplomacy Center in Uzbekistan.

The Head of the Center, Kabuljon Sabirov, emphasized that public diplomacy is crucial in developing interstate relations, while volunteer initiatives help build trust and mutual understanding. He also highlighted the importance of youth engagement in such initiatives, as they contribute to forming new connections and partnerships at the international level.

As part of the roundtable discussion, participants proposed initiatives to expand international cooperation in volunteering, establish joint educational and social projects, and enhance the role of youth in public diplomacy.

Following the event, participants expressed their commitment to continued collaboration and the implementation of joint initiatives to develop the volunteer movement and strengthen intercultural ties.
