19:59 / 2022-08-04

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a meeting on the reform of the civil service.

A new system of training and advanced training of civil servants will be established.

“New problems and questions arise daily in our rapidly changing world. Therefore, each specialist should work on himself and acquire new knowledge”, the President said.

It was noted that so far only 20 percent of civil servants have improved their qualifications, this is 1 percent in the context of managers, and less than 5 percent among deputies.

At the same time, more than 50 percent of those who improved their qualifications are not satisfied with their training.

Now the key institution – the Public Administration Academy will be transformed based on advanced foreign experience.

At the meeting, the Advisor to the President, Suma Chakrabarti, presented his proposals in this direction via videoconference.

Officials were instructed the following within a month:

– together with foreign partners and prestigious educational centers to develop joint educational programs;

– develop programs for the new academic year with the involvement of foreign specialists and train 5,000 civil servants by the end of the year.

The Cabinet of Ministers will review the activities of 110 advanced training centers in the system of ministries within two months and approve a targeted program to update curricula and methods and attract qualified specialists to them.
