Akhangaran district hosted a workshop on “Development of agriculture: legislation, technology and innovation”. Issues of development of agriculture in Uzbekistan, particularly, prospects of cotton production were discussed at the event.

The event, organized by the Committee of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Agriculture, Water and Environment Issues, was attended by responsible employees of ministries of Innovative Development, Agriculture, the State Tax Committee, the Council of Farmers, Dehkan Farms and Owners of Household Lands, Tashkent Agrarian University and representatives of regional organizations associated with this sphere.

As it was noted at the event, involvement of innovative ideas and technologies in the sphere allows to save labor, land, water and other resources.

During the discussions, best practices of cotton-growing countries, in particular the United States and India were studied and views were exchanged on using foreign experience.

Issues of innovative production of agricultural products on the basis of modern requirements, improving legal framework for reformation of agricultural sector, technical and technological renewal, as well as introduction of modern management system were also discussed at the workshop.
