Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nuriddin Ismoilov met with members of the delegation led by the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China Zhao Leji.
Relations between Uzbekistan and China are intensifying in all areas. The countries support each other on regional and international issues. Thanks to the political will of the two countries’ leaders, cooperation between Uzbekistan and China has acquired widespread significance and risen to the level of strategic partnership.

The delegation was informed about the priority tasks identified in the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy, the country’s large-scale reforms, and the Legislative Chamber’s main areas of activity.

Zhao Leji highly appreciated the results of the consistent reforms being implemented in the country and noted that the further expansion of inter-parliamentary cooperation benefits both sides.

At the meeting, the tasks facing parliaments in terms of ensuring the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level were considered, and priority tasks were identified. Issues of further enhancing trade, economic, investment cooperation, interaction in transport and communications, education, tourism, renewable energy sources, and the fight against poverty were discussed.
