Advisor at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Seoul Zokir Saidov met with the Chairman of Korea – Uzbekistan Parliamentary Friendship Association Park Kwang-on.

During the talks, issues of further strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation were discussed and an agreement was reached to continue the active dialogue and joint activities in 2023, including the organization of mutual visits of inter-parliamentary delegations at various levels.

The Chairman of Korea – Uzbekistan Parliamentary Friendship Association highly appreciated the reforms carried out in Uzbekistan aimed at further strengthening the role of parliament in the country, as well as the level of dynamically developing multifaceted cooperation between the two countries based on trust and mutual respect for the interests of the two states in a wide range of areas, including political, trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian and educational.

Parliamentary relations between the chambers of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea are characterized by high dynamism and have a tendency to further expand, Park Kwang-on noted.

Stressing the commitment of the South Korean side to further deepen and build up inter-parliamentary ties in both bilateral and multilateral formats, he expressed readiness to make every effort to promote a special strategic partnership between Seoul and Tashkent.
