Acting Hokim of Tashkent city Shavkat Umurzakov has met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Uzbekistan Ms. Aurelia Bouchez.
Mr. Umurzakov warmly welcomed the guest, expressed gratitude for the visit, and said that in Uzbekistan, especially in Tashkent, a favorable investment and business environment had been created for both local and foreign companies. He also said that the time has come, along with large projects currently being implemented with the French companies Veolia and Suez, to discuss plans for the future. The need to increase the participation of France in projects in architecture, infrastructure, design, construction, and the food industry was emphasized.
Ms. Aurelia Bouchez expressed her gratitude for the reception and openness to dialogue. She supported Mr. Umurzakov’s proposals, emphasizing that cooperation is actively gaining momentum after President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to France in November last year.
Ms. Bouchez also addressed with organizational issues on projects currently being implemented jointly with French companies. In particular, the issue of opening a branch of the French Culinary Academy Le Cordon Bleu in Tashkent was discussed.
According to the Hokimiyat, Mr. Umurzakov expressed readiness to assist in all matters.
