Presidential candidate from the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan Abdushukur Khamzayev met with voters from Surkhandarya region.
It was attended by party activists, deputies of local Councils, scientists, representatives of education, healthcare, residents of mahallas, youth, and media workers.
At the meeting, the proxy acquainted the participants with the candidate's biography. Presidential candidate A. Khamzayev noted that among the main directions of his Election Program, there are tasks directly related to the consistent solution of environmental problems arising in Surkhandarya, ensuring environmental sustainability, which will serve the well-being of the region's population.

He also noted that the Election Program was developed in accordance with the goals and objectives of the party. In particular, it defines such areas as ensuring environmental sustainability in Uzbekistan, efficient and rational use of natural resources, realizing the rights of the population to a comfortable living environment, creating decent living conditions for our people and future generations by accelerating the transition to a green economy, building a prosperous society.

In particular, in the candidate’s Election Program, when implementing state policy aimed at ensuring the rights of citizens to a comfortable living environment, attention is paid to the following:
– a Strategy for sustainable environmental development will be developed, aimed at determining the priority areas of the state environmental policy;
– due to the codification of disparate legal documents in ecology in unified industry codes, including the Environmental, Water and Forest Codes, the requirements for the rational use of natural resources will be fixed;
– requirements will be legislatively fixed that when drawing up master plans for cities, green spaces should be at least 30 percent of the territory, green areas in new residential complexes should correspond to the population;
– from now on, any construction in green areas, foothills, on the banks of rivers and lakes will be carried out only after environmental impact assessment and public control;
– a new version of the Law “On Wastes” will be adopted, which regulates the handling and processing of hazardous, biomedical, and construction wastes;
– it is planned to improve the relevant legislative acts to preserve biodiversity and ecosystems, their rational use, expand the areas of protected natural zones and strengthen the protection of flora and fauna objects listed in the Red Book of Uzbekistan.


Speakers noted that vital issues are reflected in the candidate’s Election Program, and initiatives are being promoted to improve our multinational people's well-being. It was noted that the ideas and tasks put forward would solve the acute problems of our time and the prosperity of the country and society.
