Industrial enterprises, effectively using tax and customs privileges that have been provided and possibilities in the area of credit financing, are supplying a lot of competitive goods to the domestic market and are making a contribution to strengthening the country’s export potential.

The Kosonsoy al-Aziz LLC in Kosonsoy District of Namangan Region can be an example of this. The enterprise specializes in the production of shoes. Two years ago, 300 thousand dollars worth of modernization work was carried out there. And its output increased, and it became possible to produce high quality shoes. Thanks to the use of modern technologies, productivity rose considerably.

The enterprise can produce more than 200 thousand pairs of shoes a year, and about 100 workers work there. This year, on the basis of a tender that had been won, 40 thousand pairs of shoes for school-age children were made at the enterprise to fulfil an order from the Ministry of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It is of equal importance that these high quality and comfortable shoes are made of a local raw material – 100 per cent natural leather.

Production expanded there, which is evident in the fact that in the first half of this year, the Kosonsoy al-Aziz LLC produced 1.6 billion soms worth of goods, which is 20 per cent more than the indicator for the similar period of last year.

The Nafis charm LLC located in the same district is also engaged in the production of shoes. There is demand for its products not only on the domestic market but also on external markets. There are always large numbers of buyers in the enterprise’s shops in Tashkent, in the regional centre and in districts. Not long ago, the Poyabzal Dunyosi shop started working at the enterprise itself.

“Until recently, we supplied our products only to the domestic market. The technical and technological modernization of production created a possibility for export. Work is in progress on concluding agreements on supplying products to Russia and Kazakhstan. In future – the opening of a trading house in Kazakhstan,” says the head of the enterprise, Bahodir Toshmatov.
