At a territorial fruit and vegetable trade fair in Jizzakh, more than 150 farms and processing enterprises from all the districts of the region are displaying their products.

It was noted at the opening ceremony of the trade fair that a resolution, dated 12 April this year, of the country’s First President “On measures to improve the system of the purchase of fruits, vegetables, potatoes and melons and their use” was serving to increase the production, processing and export of agricultural products.

At the trade fair, special attention is being paid to creating conveniences for drawing up direct agreements on supplying fruits and vegetables to consumers at lower prices. For this purpose representatives of wholesale and production entities and social sphere workers were invited to the trade fair.



“Such events create great possibilities for fruit and vegetable producing farms and export enterprises. This was very clear from this year’s first international fruit and vegetable trade fair held in our capital city. This territorial trade fair being conducted in our region for the first time is another opportunity for us. We intend to reach agreements with farmers and production enterprises to find foreign buyers of products,” says the chief of the Jizzakh Eksport-Import agro-firm, I.Olimov.

At the conclusion of the trade fair, winners in such nominations as “The most exemplary farm”, “The most exemplary processing enterprise” and “The most exemplary producer of export-oriented products” were given awards.
