The Kungrad Soda Plant unitary enterprise’s second unit has been put into operation. And now its production capacity has reached 200 thousand tonnes of export-oriented products a year.

104.4 million dollars of investment has been attracted for this project implemented under a resolution, dated 15 December 2010, of the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov, “On priorities of the development of the industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2011-2015”.

The output of the enterprise, which has big economic potential, has doubled.

“Modern technologies are used at the enterprise. The production process with the participation of smart technology is run from a computer centre. This creates safe and optimum working conditions and helps to raise productivity,” says worker Botir Muratbayev.

The country’s First President Islam Karimov paid special attention to issues of the comprehensive processing of local raw materials and the initiation of the production of import-substituting chemical products.

The production capacity of the enterprise, which had started its work in 2006, was 100 thousand tonnes of soda a year. The launch of its second unit made it possible to increase the output of this product for which there is demand on the world market and which completely meets international requirements. In addition to supplying this product to the domestic market, it is exported to Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.

In accordance with a resolution, dated 13 April 2005, of the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On arranging purposeful training of personnel for the Kungrad Soda Plant”, the Tashkent chemical technology institute’s special correspondence department was established. Its educational laboratory base is located in the territory of the plant, which creates wide possibilities for training qualified specialists. Many graduates of this educational establishment work at the enterprise.

All the necessary conditions have been created at the plant for the fruitful work of its workers and employees, their meaningful rest and for the improving of their health and for their children’s education. The enterprise has 1400 employees, and most of them are young people.

“I graduated from the Kungrad vocational college of chemical industry, and now I work in the quality control laboratory of this enterprise,” says Gulparshin Nurumbetova.
