Special attention is being paid in Farghona Region to further expanding systemic economic changes and to modernizing industrial enterprises. In the past period of this year, 484 billion soms of investments were attracted there, and nearly 70 per cent of them were channelled into developing production facilities and introducing modern equipment and technologies. This is an important factor in increasing the production of competitive goods and in putting more import substitution goods on the domestic market.

The Kvarts joint stock company in the town of Quvasoy supplies high quality window and glass products to building industry networks and cars, buses and tractors being produced in the country. Following large-scale modernization work carried out there, the volume of production rose, and the number of types of products reached 150. Now more than 2000 people work at the enterprise.

As demand for the enterprise’s products is high, work is intense in all its workshops. There is a production line in its workshop that produces glass containers. Local specialists are skilfully operating modern equipment and machines brought in from Germany for more than 5 million dollars of finance. Everyday 175 thousand standard capacity containers are being produced.

The hardened glass production workshop is also equipped with modern technologies. Before the year 2002, 4 million products a year were produced here, whereas now this indicator amounts to 7.5 million. Most of the hardened glass is supplied to the country’s car manufacturing, tractor and carriage production enterprises.

“At the moment, work is in progress on new projects,” says the head of the joint-stock company, Akmal Polatov.
