Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva and the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan, Ambassador Dr. Pierre von Arx, addressed the event.

The participants discussed issues of gender equality in the judiciary, proposals for the future, conditions for creating an association of foreign women judges and a national community of women judges. Practical proposals and recommendations were made to increase the effectiveness of reforms carried out in the system.

Following the conference, the judicial community sent a message to the justice system of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Proposals will be made to allocate quotas for women in admission to the Higher School of Judges under the High Judicial Council and ensure gender stability in the judiciary by creating opportunities for distance education for women who cannot study in the capital.
