A joint meeting of the Council for Humanitarian Cooperation of the Commonwealth of Independent States member states was held.
The Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov attended the virtual meeting.

The participants listened to a report on the work carried out by the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States in 2022 and for five months of this year, as well as information on the activities the fund plans to finance in 2024. The nominees for the “Stars of the Commonwealth” and “Commonwealth of Debuts” awards were approved.

At the meeting, Samarkand was declared the cultural capital of the CIS in 2024, and plans related to this decision were discussed.
The next meeting will be held within the framework of the Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the CIS Member States in Bishkek on 11-14 September.
