Bukhara hosted a meeting of the Central Asian Experts Forum.
The forum on “Development of cultural-humanitarian cooperation between the Central Asian countries as a factor of strengthening historical-cultural status in the region” was attended by representatives of political and leading analytical centers of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
The reports of the forum especially recognized the contribution of one of the ancient cities in the region – Bukhara to world civilization.
The forum noted the importance of further expanding cultural-humanitarian cooperation in Central Asia, a number of proposals were forwarded. The need for creating works of authors and groups of books on the history of Central Asia, research institutes for comprehensive study of the region’s history, establishment of bilateral and multilateral academic research was emphasized.
It was noted that based on the peculiar features of the region’s countries, it is important to create interconnected tourism destinations along the Great Silk Road, to hold cultural festivals, competitions, exhibitions, sports competitions.
Experts adopted a protocol on the results of the forum. In accordance with it, the parties agreed on the main areas of cooperation until 2023, in particular, on development of a practical program of measures on ensuring security, strengthening stability in Central Asia, cooperation in transport-transit, cultural-humanitarian, tourism, environmental, economic and integration spheres, disaster management, solution of demographic problems.
