At the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Tashkent hosted a presentation of priority areas of work of the Republic of Uzbekistan during the chairmanship of the organization in 2021-2022.
The event was attended by National Coordinators of the SCO member states, media representatives and experts.
Participants were presented with the main theses of the report of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at Dushanbe Summit, priority areas identified in accordance with this program document, as well as a list of events scheduled to be held within the framework of the country's chairmanship in the SCO.
As is known, at the Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Dushanbe, it was decided to transfer the chairmanship of the organization to Uzbekistan in 2021-2022.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev outlined several priority areas of the country's chairmanship in the organization.

It was emphasized that Uzbekistan will preside over the organization based on the principles of the SCO Charter and to improve the quality of life and well-being of the peoples of the SCO member states, ensure consistent dynamics of development, focusing on strengthening the principles of the Shanghai Spirit based on equality, good-neighborliness and mutual respect.
The first event under the chairmanship of Uzbekistan in the SCO kicked off on October 26. The heads of delegations, ambassadors and national coordinators participating in the event, first of all, congratulated the leadership of Uzbekistan and people on the results of an important political event – the Presidential elections. In addition, all member states also expressed their readiness to support the priorities and tasks put forward by the President of Uzbekistan for the implementation during the presidency.
The first meeting of the SCO National Coordinators will be held in Karakalpakstan. Its purpose is to familiarize delegation members with the results of large-scale reforms and transformations carried out in remote territories of Uzbekistan over the past five years.
