Samarkand hosts Uzbekistan – Russia Business Forum.
It is attended by the heads of ministries and agencies, regions, industry associations, representatives of more than 500 leading companies and corporations of the two countries.
Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin addressed the event.
On September 15, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President Vladimir Putin signed a Declaration on a Comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Russia. It was noted that this declaration marked the beginning of a new era of multilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Speaking about the business environment prevailing in Uzbekistan and the conditions created for entrepreneurs, it should be noted that serious attention is paid to reducing the state’s share in the economy and further deepening the privatization process. Procedures for doing business have been significantly simplified, conditions for issuing permits and licenses have been optimized, and taxes have been reduced. Such measures have made it possible to create a favorable business environment in the country. As a result of these reforms, the number of business entities has doubled. And thanks to the diversification of the economy, the share of finished products in exports is increasing. Russia is one of the largest trade and investment partners of Uzbekistan. There are high growth rates in mutual trade between the two countries.
The heads of government also took part in the exhibition “Made in Uzbekistan” organized within the framework of the forum. The exhibition presented products of the light, leather and footwear, electrical, chemical, agricultural industries, as well as jewelry and construction materials produced in Uzbekistan.
