Poyi Kalon is a historical landmark of Bukhara, Uzbekistan, and Central Asia.
The architectural ensemble of Poyi Kalon includes the Mir Arab Madrasah, Minorai Kalon, and the mosque of the same name. The buildings in the complex were built between the 12th and 16th centuries.

According to historical sources, Poyi Kalon means “at the feet of the great one”. The minaret received this name because it is located at the foot of the Minorai Kalon minaret, built in 1127 by Arslankhan, and has survived to this day.

The distinguished guest also visited the Mir Arab Madrasah, where he was briefed on its history.
According to historical sources, the madrasah was built under the patronage of Ubaydullakhan from 1530 to 1536 by Sheikh Abdullah, a native of Yemen. The building consists of two huge halls – one is a mosque and performance space, and the second is a mausoleum.

The Mir Arab Madrasah ranks second in size after the Kukaldosh Madrasah in Bukhara.
