Priceless heritage of the peoples of the world

The event, held in the Central Park of Culture and Recreation named after Alisher Navoi in Samarkand and dedicated to the 581st anniversary of the great poet’s birth, was attended by representatives of the public, cultural figures, students and employees of the Ministries of Tourism and Culture of the Turkic-speaking states.

The First Vice-Rector of the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Professor J. Eltazarov, member of Uzbekistan Writers’ Union J. Suvonova spoke about the role of Alisher Navoi in the development of the Turkic language and literature, as well as about the ideas put forward in his works.

The works of Alisher Navoi have become an invaluable spiritual heritage of the peoples of the world. They are translated and studied in different languages.

Students of Samarkand State University read samples of ghazals of the great thinker. The actors of the regional music and drama theater presented stage performances about the life and works of Navoi.

The participants laid wreaths at the monument to Alisher Navoi in the park.

Cultural-enlightenment events, contests and poetry meetings are also held in the region.
