Prevention of extremism and radicalism

From November 22 to December 21, training sessions “Prevention of violent extremism and radicalism that generate terrorism” were organized for chairmen and representatives of 20 mahallas of Shaykhantakhur district within the framework of the project “Prevention of violent extremism in Central Asia”.

This multi-stage project was implemented at the initiative of the German Federal Foreign Office by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Mahalla and Family Support of Uzbekistan.

Participants improved their legal literacy in combating extremism and terrorism. They were informed about the methods of influencing people's consciousness used by radical organizations, as well as the possibilities to counteract the ideas of radicalism, extremism and terrorism.

Following the event, students were awarded certificates.

Similar trainings will be held in other districts of Tashkent and the regions of Uzbekistan.
