The Eurasian Alliance of Mountain Resorts, which unites the mountain resorts of Uzbekistan “Amirsoy”, Kazakhstan “Shymbulak” and Russia “Rosa Khutor”, organized a press tour for journalists to the Olympic mountain resort “Rosa Khutor”.
The press tour program included interviews with the Alliance of Mountain Resorts leadership, acquaintance with various events and initiatives, mountain hikes and excursions to post-Olympic sites, meetings with Russian International Olympic University experts, and much more.
On June 8 this year, the heads of the mountain resorts “Rosa Khutor” of Russia, “Shymbulak” of Kazakhstan, and “Amirsoy” of Uzbekistan began joint work to create the Eurasian Alliance of Mountain Resorts. The corresponding memorandum was signed at the exhibition “Eurasia – Our Home”, timed to coincide with the meeting of the heads of government of the CIS countries.
As the Director General of the “Rosa Khutor” resort, Alexander Belokobylsky, noted then, among the primary tasks of the Eurasian Alliance of Mountain Resorts is to promote the progressive development of mountain resorts based on cooperation, exchange of necessary information and best practices, joint professional development of workers, and the preservation of the natural and cultural heritage of the member countries and popularization of a healthy lifestyle. Also, one of the priority tasks is to expand the territory of friendship, good neighborliness, trust, and mutual understanding in the Eurasian space.
During the exhibition “Tourism on the Silk Road”, held in Tashkent on November 16, a Memorandum on the accession of the “Shahdag” resort of Azerbaijan to the Alliance was signed. In this regard, a teleconference with the new member of the Alliance is also planned as part of the press tour.
Mountain areas in Kazakhstan occupy 10 percent of the area, in Uzbekistan – 21 percent, in Russia – 53 percent, and in Azerbaijan – 65 percent. All this creates the preconditions for mountain tourism development, with international cooperation being the key to success.
Resorts are very different, and each has tourist attraction points that guests should recognize. Accordingly, during the press tour, information will be provided on specific joint events at the Alliance resorts that are already scheduled for implementation this winter, and a unified Calendar of sports, cultural, and entertainment events will be presented at all of them in the coming year.
Also, participants of the press tour, which will last until December 14, will learn about the progress of preparations for the large-scale Festival of Mountain Resorts, which will be held in March 2024 at the “Rosa Khutor” resort, the development of an interstate tourist route through the resorts participating in the Alliance, and the creation of a single Internet resource, as well as the launch of a corporate university to train personnel for mountain resorts.
