Press conference dedicated to the SCO summit
On June 9-10 this year, regular meeting of the Council of Heads of States of the SСO will be held in the city of Qingdao of the People's Republic of China. On May 29, a press conference dedicated to this major event was held in Tashkent.
On June 9-10 this year, regular meeting of the Council of Heads of States of the SСO will be held in the city of Qingdao of the People's Republic of China. On May 29, a press conference dedicated to this major event was held in Tashkent.It was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, embassies of the People's Republic of China, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of India, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
At the event, it was noted that the authority of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is growing, the mutually beneficial relations of member states in political, trade-economic and humanitarian spheres are developing, cooperation in countering terrorism, religious extremism, separatism, smuggling of narcotic drugs and weapons, strengthening regional security and stability is strengthening.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Uzbekistan Jian Yang noted that the summit in Qingdao will be chaired by the President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping. Heads of member states and observer countries of the SCO, representatives of international organizations are invited to the summit. The Ambassador emphasized that it is planned to exchange views on the current state and prospects of SCO development, comprehensive cooperation, a number of international and regional issues.
According to the Ambassador, a bilateral meeting of the President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is envisaged within the framework of the summit, in Qingdao. Following the summit, the Qingdao Declaration, as well as about 20 documents related to ensuring security, cooperation in economic and humanitarian spheres are expected to be signed.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan A.Abduvokhidov noted that within the framework of the SCO chairmanship, the PRC conducted an effective and successful activity. Over the past year, more than hundred events were organized with participation of heads of various ministries and departments of member states, which were actively attended by representatives of Uzbekistan. The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan emphasized that in operational solution of issues related to preparation for the summit, close cooperation with representatives of embassies of the PRC and other SCO member states in Uzbekistan is being conducted.
It was noted that the regular summit will create great opportunities for identifying concrete plans for development of the SCO, raising multifaceted cooperation in a number of spheres to an even higher level.
