As previously reported, the 17th Summer Paralympic Games will officially start today in Paris.

Until September 8, Paralympic athletes from all over the world, including 65 athletes from Uzbekistan, will compete for 113 prize places in 9 sports – para-athletics, para-taekwondo, para-shooting, para-swimming, para-rowing, para-academic rowing, para-judo, para-powerlifting and para-cycling.

On the eve of the Paralympics, a press conference was held for journalists who arrived in Paris to cover these prestigious competitions.

The event was attended by the President of the International Paralympic Committee Andrew Parsons, the organizers of the games, and about 200 media workers from many countries.

The opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games will take place today at 23:00 Tashkent time.
