The Presidents have discussed in a narrow format the issues of further developing the cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia, reinforcing peace and security and have exchanged views on regional and international problems, presenting a mutual interest.

The current state and prospects of developing cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment, scientific-technical and cultural-humanitarian spheres have been considered.

Vladimir Putin, welcoming Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who has arrived on a state visit to Russia, has underscored that this a favorable opportunity to discuss the issues of mutual interest for the parties.

- It is very important for us to continue the cooperation with Uzbekistan on a new level, the President of Russia noted. – Our countries have many unused opportunities for further developing the cooperation, and their utilization is beneficial for both parties.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev has underlined that this meeting will become a new step in the way of further developing cooperation between our countries.

– Firstly, I express sincere condolences on the tragedy, that occurred on 3 April in Saint Petersburg, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said. – The cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia has been developing based on the high trust and mutual respect. The dynamic nature of reinforcing interactions on different levels corroborate mutual interest of the parties in enhancing the multifaceted partnership. I once again convey our gratitude for your visit to our country to pay a tribute of respect to the memory of the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, which has been an affirmation of your high esteem to Islam Karimov, to the people of Uzbekistan.
